Sumner County Court Docket: Oct. 1-25
The following is a list of criminal felony and misdemeanor cases which were filed at the Sumner County District Court office, Oct. 1 – Oct. 25, 2012:
Felony Level 5:
•Marcus Sterling Mechem of Conway Springs was charged with aggravated sexual battery, sexual battery and aggravated burglary stemming from an incident which occurred on July 28, 2012 at a Conway Springs home. On Oct. 11 the court dismissed the aggravated sexually battery and sexual battery charge. Mechem did plead guilty to aggravated burglary. The case is continued to Nov. 8, 2012 at 9 a.m.
Felony Level 8:Â
•Phillip Appelhans of Wichita was charged with five counts of forgery. One charge was a “Possession with intent to distribute written instrument.” The other four were “Distributing or issuing a written statement.” Appelhans pled guilty to the possession with intent to distribute written instrument charge. He also pled guilty to two of the four distributing or issuing a written statement charge.
•The court dismissed a manipulating electronic gaming or lottery facility game charge to Phompheth Choulramountry of Wichita.
•Christina Clifton pled guilty to two counts of “Forgery; distributing or issuing written instrument.” The court dismissed Clifton’s three identity theft cases.
•Loretta Wiley pled guilty to “Forgery; Making or altering a written instrument.”
Felony Level 9:Â
The court dismissed the following Felony Level 9 charges:
•Saul Jones, Jr. – theft of property or services valued at $1,000 to $25,000;
•John Morgan – theft of property or services; valued at $1,000 to $25,000;
•Timothy Williams – criminal threat, unknown circumstances.
