These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury unless specified otherwise. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

State of Kansas v. John Tallman — Case No: 18 CR 206
Date of birth: 1963. Address: Oxford.
Date of alleged crime: July 30, 2018
Charges:
Count 1: Domestic battery, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 2: Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.
Case description: Tallman is accused of angrily pushing and striking a family member in the head with a door to a van. He also allegedly damaged a bedroom door.

State of Kansas v. Augustus Hart — Case No: 18 CR 207
Date of birth: 1992. Address: Wellington.
Date of alleged crime: March 10-16, 2018
Charges:
Count 1: Criminal damage to property, level 9 felony.
Case description: Hart is accused of taking his father’s white 1998 Ford Ranger pickup from their house in Wellington out to a field owned just outside of the community and shooting it several times with a gun placing several bullet holes into the vehicle and rendering it un-drivable which cost more than $1,000 to repair.

Case description: Thomas is accused of operating a motorcycle in the 200 block of E. 17th St. in Wellington with an alcohol concentration in his blood of .08 or more.

Case description: Fair is accused of consuming alcohol at the Wellington Lake and having a breath alcohol content of .155.

State of Kansas v. Brendan Auzat — Case No: 18 CR 213.
Date of birth: 1989. Address: Oxford.
Date of alleged crime: July 29, 2018.
Charges:
Count 1: Attempted theft by deception, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 2: Counterfeiting currency, level 8 felony.
Count 3: Counterfeiting currency, level 8 felony.
Count 4: Possession marijuana, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 5: Possession drug paraphernalia, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 6: Possession of narcotic, level 5 drug felony.
Case description: Auzat is accused of purchasing a cell phone for $125 and then paying the owner with fake money that she didn’t notice until she tried spending the money for gas. He also allegedly used a computer, printer, paper and other items at his fathers residence to produce fake $20 and $1 bills with several bills having the same serial number.
Also, Auzat allegedly had marijuana in a round tray under the couch in his living room, a marijuana pipe and three hydrocodone pills.

State of Kansas v. Robert Jason Murray — Case No: 18 CR 214.

Count 2: Attempting aggravated robbery with a dangerous weapon, level 5 felony.

Count 4: Aggravated assault committed with a deadly weapon, level 7 felony.

Count 6: Stalking, Class A misdemeanor

Case description: Murray is accused of confining a woman in her Buick Lacrosse vehicle near the intersection of Timber Road and U.S. Highway 81 by force or threat. He allegedly pulled his 2002 GMC Yukon in such a way to block the road way in front of the the woman’s Buick confining her at the location. He then allegedly got out of his Yukon, pulled out a 9mm semiautomatic handgun – touched her cheeks and neck with the gun and asked for money while pulling at her shirt with the other hand.
Murray then allegedly further threatened her by yelling “give me all your money.” She then allegedly was trying to give him the money but was scared for her life, and that allegedly caused her to back up and pulls away. As she was driving off, Murray allegedly shot at least three rounds from his hand gun.
Allegedly, the two had previously been in a romantic relationship that ended 2 1/2 months prior to the incident. He allegedly had continuously called her at work. The calls on that particular day were “overwhelming” and eventually caused her to leave work. He allegedly followed her which led up to the gun incident.

State of Kansas v. Jesse Green, Jr. — Case No: 18 CR 217.

Date of alleged crime: Oct. 17, 2017.
Charges:
Count 1: Theft, Class A misdemeanor.
Count 2: Conspiracy to commit theft, Class C misdemeanor.
Count 3: Criminal damage to property, level 9 felony.
Case description: Green is accused of stealing a blue plastic tote ($13), a 21.5-inch LED spot light bar ($59), a Pioneer 150 amp car stereo ($30), Pioneer car stereo ($109), and TBX10A single subwoofer ($79) at Wellington Wal-Mart – for a total of $290.
According to the complaint, Green exited a red GMC truck with two other people, including Joseph Leftwich and entered the Walmart where he and his accomplices allegedly stole the items and put them in the tote bag and placed it on the northeast part of the fenced area at the Garden Center.
Then, allegedly, Green cut the fence, and from the other side, grabbed the bag of stolen items and threw it in the pickup. The three then allegedly drove away. Then, allegedly, the woman in the vehicle would return to Walmart on Nov. 2, 2017 and had the hood painted black, the grill painted black, and a small 15-24 inch LED light bar mounted on the front bumper which was one of the stolen items.

State of Kansas v. Joshua Bodner — Case No: 18 CR 221.

Count 1: Driving while suspended, Class A misdemeanor.
Count 2: Possession of methamphetamines with intent to distribute, level 3 drug felony.
Count 3: Possession of drug paraphernalia, level 5 drug felony.
Count 4: Interference with law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor.
Case description: Bodner is accused of driving with a suspended license while possessing 13.5 grams of packaged methamphetamines that was also located next to his high school diploma with the name “Josh Bodner”, and a piece of paper with “Bodner, Joshua, KDOC #114408, Facility: WCF, Location ….” He also had two syringes with substance inside and a silver tin container that held a blue digital scale and a white measuring cup.
Allegedly, he switched places with the passenger, Brooke Elizabeth Pelkey, to obstruct law enforcement that he was driving a car with a suspended license.

Case description: Logan is accused of punching Steven Koch in the face and scratching him on the neck.

State of Kansas v. Gerald Scott Gray — Case No: 18 CR 223.

Date of alleged crime: August 4, 2018.
Charges:
Count 1: Possession of methamphetamines with intent to distribute, level 2 drug felony.
Count 2: Criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felony, level 8 felony.
Count 3: Aggravated endangering a child, level 9 felony.
Case description: Gray is accused of possessing about 340 grams of methamphetamine inside a plastic bag inside a tool box located in the garage of the defendant’s residence. He also had firearms inside a tool box inside the garage of his residence, even though he was convicted of two felonies within the preceding five years. He is also accused of endangering his 4-year-old son by having him around in the environment.

Case description: Koch is accused of throwing Lea Logan down the stairs while involved in a dating relationship/marriage (see above).

Case description: Beltz is accused of breaking a picture frame and lamp valued at $50 at her grandmother’s house. She then is accused of yelling at her and her husband saying she hated them while pushing her grandmother’s chest.

Date of alleged crime: August 19, 2018.
Charges:
Count 1: Violation of protective order, Class A misdemeanor.
Case description: Moody is accused of violating a protection from stalking order issued in Sumner District Court on August 1 by interviewing in the privacy rights of another person by parking his truck in a field directly across the street from her residence about 9 a.m.

Date of alleged crime: Oct. 17, 2017.
Charges:
Count 1: Theft, level 9 felony.
Count 2: Conspiracy to commit theft, level 10 felony.
Count 3: Criminal damage to property, level 9 felony.

Case description: Robinson is accused of kicking a family member and slapping her in the face. He then called the woman names and threw a stack of DVDs onto the floor in anger. Then after she reported it to police, afterwards he allegedly called her a snitch and threatened her with extreme violence including her life. He also allegedly said he was going to burn the home down as well as the vehicle she drives.

Case description: Clemons is accused of drawing off an account from another individual’s checking account f0r which he wasn’t entitled. He allegedly obtained $150 and $200 with two separate checks. He then allegedly falsely told another individual that he was employed by the individual he drew the illegal checks from for work performed and he needed her to endorse the checks so they could be cashed at Impact Bank where she had an account. Then from March 7 through June 1 he stole $4,620 from the first individual using his debit card.

Case description: Harbison is accused of angrily striking his girlfriend and then pushing her down in the street, before allegedly following her to her residence while punching, kicking and biting her.

Case description: Black is accused of breaking into a detached garage and stealing a “Bearcat” police scanner from the garage. He also is accused of cutting off a lock, damaging the door, hasp, cutting wires in the garage and damaging another door to the garage.

Case description: Murray is accused of sending 23 text messages from cell number to a person he was issued not to have contact with thus violating a court-order protection order.

Case description: Long is accused of possessing methamphetamine inside a ziplock bag inside a pill bottle inside a red toiletry bag inside the vehicle she was driving. Long also allegedly had a partially rolled marijuana cigarette inside a small metal container, two bags of approximately 9 grams of marijuana inside the bag, some oxycodone pills, and hydrocodone pills. She also allegedly had a faulty tail light.

Date of alleged crime: August 22, 2018.

Count 1: Theft, level 9 felony.
Count 2: Attempted aggravated battery, level 6 felony.
Count 3: Aggravated assault, level 7 felony.
Count 4: Reckless driving, unclassified misdemeanor.
Count 5: Leaving accidents scene involving unattended property, Class C misdemeanor.
Count 6: Domestic battery, Class B misdemeanor.
Case description: Mendia is accused of stealing a 2012 Nissan Quest tan van from a neighbor. Then at 4 a.m. at 119 E. 21st in Wellington Mendia and his girl friend were having an argument, where he allegedly struck her causing significant marks and bruises.
Then the two were outside arguing, when he allegedly left and got into the stolen van, drove around the block, jumped a curb, and drove the vehicle towards her intending to strike her. She was allegedly standing on the grass at the time and initially didn’t see him coming but was informed by someone else that the van was coming towards her.
According to the complaint, the woman said she was barely able to get onto her porch steps when he drove the vehicle where she was standing. He then allegedly struck a nearby utility pole and left the scene. He was later apprehended on Douglas and Woodsway in Wellington.

Case description: MumFord is accused of having a small amount of marijuana inside a wooden container in his pocket.

Case description: Pelkey is accused of switching places with the driver, Joshua Bodner (see above), to obstruct the officers during the traffic stop to try to avoid being cited for driving while suspended.

Case description: Jones is accused of stealing a debit card out of the purse of a family member and taking it to Casey’s to make unauthorized purchases of $22.38 for cigarettes and cash, and $19.59 for gasoline, and then placed it back into her car without telling her.

Date of alleged crime: August 11, 2018.

Count 1: Driving while suspended, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 3: Possession narcotics, level 5 drug felony.
Case description: Bennehoof is accused of driving with a suspended driver’s license while under the influence of a combination of drugs rendering her incapable of safely driving a motor vehicle. She also allegedly had in her possession an opiate called morphine sulphate.

Date of alleged crime: August 19, 2018.

Case description: McLemore is accused of having a small black bag beside the driver’s seat and more marijuana in a grinder near the center console of his vehicle, and a marijuana pipe.

Case description: Anderson is accused of angrily shoving a woman and yelling to the point that his adult daughter left the premises with her child and called the police.
