These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury unless specified otherwise. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The state of Kansas v. Christopher Kile-Rud — Case No: 19 CR 41.
Date of birth: 1985. Address: Oxford.
Date of the alleged crime: Feb. 23, 2019
Charges:
Count 1: False information, level 8 felony.
Count 2: Theft, Class A misdemeanor.
Case description: Kile-Rud is accused of using counterfeit money to purchase $40 worth of merchandise and cash.

The state of Kansas v. Zane Deffenbaugh— Case No: 19 CR 42.
Date of birth: 1994. Address: Wellington.
Date of the alleged crime: Dec. 23, 2018
Charges:
Count 1: Burglary of a non-dwelling, level 7 felony.
Count 2: Burglary of a dwelling, level 7 felony.
Count 3: Theft, level 9 felony.
Count 4: Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.
Case description: Deffenbaugh is accused of entering a detached garage and stealing tools off the wall, a Hobart welder, a toolbox containing sockets and wrenches and other items. He then allegedly stole two trombones, a Beretta handgun, a 12-gauge shotgun, welder, Craftsman 11-piece wrench set, green metal toolbox containing tools, cordless drill and other items inside the house at 416 North A St. He also is accused of breaking a window to get into the house, a window in the back door, spray painted windows in the garage and left his fingerprints on one of his spray paint bottles.

The state of Kansas v. John Tallman — Case No: 19 CR 44.

Count 1: Criminal damage to property, Class A misdemeanor.
Case description: Tallman is accused of physically destroying a cell phone and throwing it through a heating vent which rendered it useless while in an argument with April Tallman.

Count 1: Aggravated battery, level 7 felony.
Count 2: Domestic battery, Class B misdemeanor.
Case description: April Tallman is accused of having an argument with John in which she got a hammer and then struck John in the back of the head with it causing significant swelling and a bruise.

The state of Kansas v. Danny King — Case No: 19 CR 48.

Date of the alleged crime: February 21, 2019.
Charges:
Count 1: Driving left of center, traffic infraction.
Count 2: No registration on a trailer, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 3: Possession marijuana, level 5 drug felony.
Count 4: Possession drug paraphernalia, Class B misdemeanor.
Case description: King is accused of driving a white Chevrolet pickup pulling a tandem axle trailer upon U.S. 81 highway and crossing the center line. The trailer was found to not be registered and had no annual registration decal displayed. He then allegedly had a marijuana cigarette hidden in the crease between the driver’s seat and the center console of the pickup he was driving.

The state of Kansas v. Carson Horsch — Case No: 19 CR 51.

Count 1: Driving left of center, a traffic infraction.
Count 2: Speeding, traffic infraction.
Count 3: Failure to use turn signal, traffic infraction.

Count 5: Failure to stop at stop sign, traffic infraction.
Count 6: Failure to maintain lane, traffic infraction.

Case description: Horsch is accused of driving a 2015 White Chrysler Town and Country Van on I-35 at a speed of 86 to 113 mph in a 75-mph-zone near the Wellington exit 19 and not making a full stop at the intersection of U.S 160 and the turnpike toll road exit where a stop sign was present. Allegedly, when the Sumner County Sheriff deputy activated the emergency lights to stop Horsch for speeding, he stopped but then floored it as soon as the deputy got out of her vehicle. He then, allegedly, accelerated the speed to 113 mph, and failed to signal when changing lanes, or maintaining his lane at the high rate of speed. He eventually, according to the complaint, yielded to a Belle Plaine officer while driving on N. Broadway.

The state of Kansas v. Sydnie Klos — Case No: 19 CR 53.

Date of the alleged crime: October 31, 2017.
Charges:
Count 1: Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, level 3 felony.
Count 2: Possession methamphetamine with intent to distribute, level 3 drug felony.
Count 3: Possession cocaine with intent to distribute, level 3 drug felony.
Count 4: Possession drub paraphernalia to analyze, test, or distribute a controlled substance, level 5 felony.
Case description: Klos is accused of distributing marijuana in quantities of about 339 grams in her tan purse in the vehicle when she was driving in a motor vehicle accident near 140th Ave. and Broadway in Sumner County. She then allegedly had about 30 grams of methamphetamine, 30 grams of cocaine, and 150 sandwich bags in a box and a digital scale in an apparent attempt to distribute controlled substances.

The state of Kansas v. Adaysia Love — Case No: 19 CR 57.

Charges:
Count 1: Possession marijuana, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 2: Possession drug paraphernalia, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 3: Possession drug paraphernalia, Class B misdemeanor.
Case description: Love is accused of having a marijuana stem in the center console of his vehicle she was driving, marijuana roaches in the back seat, traces of marijuana in a bag inside her glove box and in an M&M box in the center console. Love also had cigarillo rolling paper to make blunts and two smoked cigarettes.

The state of Kansas v. Aaron Martinez — Case No: 19 CR 60.
Date of birth: 1994. Address: Wellington.
Date of the alleged crime: March 10, 2019.
Charges:
Count 1: Aggravated domestic battery, level 7 felony.
Count 2: Domestic battery, Class B misdemeanor.
Case description: Martinez is accused of angrily grabbing a household member by the throat and forcefully holding her against her will while leaving marks on her neck.
Court update: Martinez pled guilty to Count 2 of domestic battery on March 21. Count 1 was dismissed. He was sentenced to six months of the county jail and fined $200 and court costs with credit time served 11 days from March 10 to March 21. He was granted one-year probation in which he must obtain a domestic violence assessment at Sumner Mental Health Center and follow recommendations for treatment.

The state of Kansas v. Jeffrey Butler, Jr. — Case No: 19 CR 61.

Date of the alleged crime: March 16, 2019.
Charges:
Count 1: Failure to use lighted headlights when required, a traffic infraction.
Count 2: Driving under the influence, Class B misdemeanor.
Case description: Butler is accused of failing to use headlights required by law while driving near milepost 299 and U.S. 160. He allegedly had .237 grams per 210 milliliters of breath when a breath sample was taken at 7:59 a.m. He is also accused of driving with an open bottle of 40 percent 1 liter Hennessy Very Special Cognac alcohol that was found on the front right floorboard. Allegedly, he also stole the vehicle he was driving which was a rental 2018 Nissan Grey four-door Altima from another individual.

Charges:
Count 1: Criminal sodomy, level 3 felony.
Count 2: Indecent liberties with a child, level 5 felony.
Count 3: Indecent solicitation of a child, level 6 felony.
Case description: Biehler is accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 15-year-old.

The state of Kansas v. William Allen Ford — Case No: 19 CR 64.
Date of birth: 1980. Address: Milan.
Date of the alleged crime: July 2018 – March 2019.
Charges:
Count 1: Aggravated violation of offender registration act, level 3 felony.
Count 2: Violation of offender registration act, level 6 felony.
Count 3: Violation of offender registration act, level 6 felony.
Case description: Ford who was accused of not registering with the Sumner County Sheriff’s office from July 2018 until March 2019 as required by law after being convicted of conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance in Chautauqua County.

The state of Kansas v. Chase Rosewicz — Case No: 19 CR 66.
Date of birth: 1988. Address: Wellington.
Date of the alleged crime: March 6, 2019.
Charges:
Count 1: Discharge firearm in city limits, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 2: Disorderly conduct, Class C misdemeanor.
Count 3: Driving under the influence, Class B misdemeanor.
Count 4: Possession of firearm while under the influence of alcohol, Class A misdemeanor.
Case description: Rosewicz is accused of discharging a .9 mm Beretta in his 2012 Volkswagen which he was wearing in his holster while intoxicated. Upon inspection, according to the complaint, the magazine was missing one bullet and there was a spent shell casing on the floor of the vehicle and there was a bullet hole through the floor mat and into the floorboard. Rosewicz was accused of picking a fight with a bartender who refused to serve him because he was allegedly too intoxicated. He then went to his car where the gun was discharged. He then allegedly drove around the block only to return to the bar where he again tried to pick a fight with a bartender.
Allegedly, thereafter, Rosewicz left and drove the car again with an alcohol content of greater than .08 alcohol content and told law enforcement he took an anti-anxiety medication before consuming alcohol.

The state of Kansas v. Tyrone Inkelaar — Case No: 19 CR 70.

Date of the alleged crime: February 27, 2019.
Charges:
Count 1: Criminal damage to property, level 9 felony.
Case description: Inkelaar is accused of punching a gaming machine, breaking the glass screen which the parts replacement without labor is $1,597.25.

The state of Kansas v. Bobby English — Case No: 19 CR 71.
Date of birth: 1967. Address: Caldwell.
Date of the alleged crime: March 8, 2019.
Charges:
Count 1: Assault of a law enforcement officer, Class A misdemeanor.
Count 2: Disorderly Conduct, Class C misdemeanor.
Case description: English is accused of attempting to assault a Caldwell police officer, who approached him about his dog running loose and causing injury to a small child. Allegedly, English became angry with the officer, directed profanity toward him and started angrily flailing his arms. Allegedly, he stepped towards the officer to punch him, but was unsuccessful. English then attempted to hit the officer again, but did not make contact again, allegedly.

The state of Kansas v. Joseph Fann — Case No: 19 CR 72.
Date of birth: 1984. Address: Winfield.
Date of the alleged crime: March 28, 2019.
Charges:
Count 1: Attempted aggravated burglary of a dwelling, level 6 felony.
Count 2: Burglary of non-dwelling, level 7 felony.
Count 3: Possession drug paraphernalia, class B misdemeanor.
Case description: Fann is accused of trying to break into the residence at 715 N. Lincoln in Belle Plaine, but was interrupted when the Mulvane Police Chief saw him try to break into the door of the house and removing the light bulb from the porch light. He and two accomplices who was with him at the time allegedly fled the house when discovered and was eventually caught by the officer. He also allegedly had in possession a glass smoking device considered to be drug paraphernalia.

The state of Kansas v. Zane Deffenbaugh — Case No: 19 CR 75.
Date of birth: 1994. Address: Wellington.
Date of the alleged crime: March 28, 2019.
Charges:
Count 1: Aggravated escape from custody, level 8 felony.
Case description: Deffenbaugh is accused of escaping and fleeing on foot, during transport to the Sumner County jail. Allegedly, a detention deputy had him handcuffed and he was being escorted to the transport van to be taken to the jail for facing multiple charges and for failing to appear in court for those specific charges. According to the complaint, he eluded capture and a manhunt ensued involving courthouse security, the Wellington Police Department and Sumner County Sheriff’s Deputies. Following a citizen’s tip, Deffenbaugh was allegedly located inside his grandmother’s house in Wellington.
Deffenbaugh was arrested earlier that day in court for having previously failed to appear on March 21 for Sumner County Cases: 19 CR 42 (involving a felony charges of burglary and felony theft); 18 CR 305 (involving a felony charge of burglary and felony theft); 18 CR 305 (involving a felony charge of possession of marijuana, third offense) and (an aggravated weapons violation for possession of brass knuckles within five years after a prior felony conviction).
