Sumner County Fair Association will hold first bed build

Sumner Newscow report —  It’s just a few weeks until you and your family, club or group will have an opportunity to help a child improve their childhood by helping to provide a bed to sleep in.

Second Saturday, July 11, the Sumner County Fair Association will hold the first “bed build” through Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization that provides a twin bed, full bedding, setup, and delivery to any child ages 3-17 who needs a bed.

Mill Creek Lumber has generously donated all the supplies needed for the first build, and now people are encouraged to come to the Stock Exchange parking lot on July 11 at 9 a.m. to receive the short training and instructions on kicking off this project.

This is a community-building project as well as a learning opportunity on giving back to those who need a bed. Grab your kids, friends, or church and help us build our first 30 beds. This is expected to take about 3 hours if we have plenty of help. If you have questions, please call Wanda at 620-845-0253. Donations of cash for more materials, new bedding, and pillows are welcome.

Applications will be available soon.
