Sumner County Hospital District No. 1 to hold groundbreaking ceremony for new building on Nov. 4

Submitted to Sumner Newscow —  Sumner County Hospital District No. 1 and its Board of Trustees invite the public to join an outdoor groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, November 4, at 2 p.m. in Caldwell. The event will take place at the construction site near Highway 81 and Greene Road. Guests are encouraged to enter from Greene Road.

“We are grateful for the prodigious support we have received for the replacement of our hospital,” said hospital CEO Brooke Bollman. “We are thrilled to break ground on this pivotal project.”

LK Architecture designed the facility with MKEC serving as a civil and structural engineer. Hutton is a construction manager at-risk. Construction is expected to last 15 months, though supply chain delays could impact the schedule.

Once construction is complete, SCHD1 will offer a new primary care family clinic, telemedicine, and a specialty clinic that will allow local access to specialists and expanded outpatient services. With the closure of Sumner County Regional Hospital in Wellington, SCHD1 is the only hospital in Sumner County.
