Sumner Court Docket: July 15, 2014 report

by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The following are a list of criminal court complaints recently filed by the Sumner County Attorney’s office.

These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tyson Hodson, born in 1996, of Wellington was charged with conspiracy to commit criminal damage to property, a level 10 non-person felony, and four counts of criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanors.

Hodson is accused on May 19, 2014 of conspiring with another individual of picking up rocks from Wheat Country Car Wash and went cruising in Andrew Horn’s vehicle – looking to hit cars with those rocks. Hodson and his unnamed co-conspirator allegedly caused $1,936 damage in the incident.

According to the complaint, Hodson hit a side window of a 1995 E150 Club Wagon Van causing $750.31 damage. He then is accused of hitting a side window of a 1999 Oldsmobile Bravado causing $427.51 damage. Hodson then is accused of throwing a large chunk of asphalt at a 2010 Suzuki, breaking the side view mirror off and damaging the door at an estimated damage of $735.35.

Corey Grove, born in 1974, of Rose Hill was charged with theft, a level 9 felony; and conspiracy to commit criminal damage to property, a level 10 felony.

Grove is accused of stealing four brass oil well fittings and copper ground wire from two different oil pumping rigs from Anstine-Musgrove Oil Co. near River Road and 40th Street South near Oxford.

His court deposition is set for July 17 at 9 a.m.

Creed Arp, born in 1986, of Wichita was charged with burglary, a Level 7 felony; theft, a level 9 felony; burglary, a level 7 felony; and theft, a level 9 felony.

Arp is accused on Oct. 7 of entering a round top storage building at 604 South G in Wellington and stealing antique porcelain Marathon, Pure and Red Crown signs. Also on Oct. 3, he entered another storage building owned by the same person on 320 N. Tyler and stole 20 antique automotive related signs valued at least $1,000 but less than $25,000.

Rhonda Getman, born in 1973, of Springfield, Mo. was charged with pedestrian under the influence, a misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.

Getman is accused on July 4, walking on 9th Street from A to C Streets in Wellington while being under the influence of alcohol to the degree she could barely walk. She also allegedly had a syringe which she intended to use to inject controlled substance into her body.

Her court deposition is set for July 17, 2014.

Darren Fryar, born in 1969, of Fort Gibson, Okla. was charged with passing on left when unsafe; possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.

Fryar is accused on June 25, 2014 of driving a 2005 Peterbilt tractor-trailer into the passing lane while passing another vehicle traveling the same direction and causing another person driving in an opposite direction to put his vehicle into the ditch to avoid a collision, just west of Wellington on U.S. 160.

Upon being stopped, Fryar allegedly had a baggy of marijuana and white marijuana pipe in his semi truck discovered by a motor carrier inspector.
