Sumner Court Docket: Oct. 20, 2015 report

These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury unless specified otherwise. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

State of Kansas v. Rick Lee Crowley — Case No: 15 CR 268.

Date of birth: 1958. Address: Mulvane.

Charges:

Count 1 — Left of Center, traffic infraction.

Count 2 — DUI second offense (DUI conviction 2/23/2005 Sedgwick County).

Count 3 — Possession drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: September 8, 2015.

Case description:

Crowley is accused of driving his vehicle down the center of U.S. 160 near the intersection of Michigan Street in Oxford before driving his vehicle into the bridge guardrail east of Oxford in Cowley County while under the influence of drugs.

He also allegedly was carrying a silver container in the driver’s side door used to store soma and hydrocodone pills.

State of Kansas v. Reno Red Leaf— Case No: 15 CR 269.

Date of birth: 1989. Address: Ponca City, Okla.

Charges:

Count 1 — Illegal sunscreening device, misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Failure to provide proof of insurance, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Fraudulent display of registration license plate, unclassified misdemeanor.

Count 4 — Driving while suspended or revoked, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 5 — Possession drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: September 12, 2015.

Case description:

Red Leaf is accused of having a sunscreening device where the total light transmission throughs windows was less than 35 percent. He also allegedly did not have proper liability insurance, a 60-day tag display, and had his driver’s license revoked. He also allegedly had a marijuana pipe in his possession.

State of Kansas v. Nathan Scott Ferguson — Case No: 15 CR 270.

Date of birth: 1986. Address: Oxford.

Charges:

Count 1 — Disorderly conduct, Class C misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Criminal trespass, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Criminal deprivation of motor vehicle, Class A misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: September 12, 2015.

Case description:

Ferguson is accused of angrily pounding on the door calling a male derogatory racist names and telling him to come outside to be beaten. He was then told to leave the property by a female relative, but he refused to go. Ferguson is then accused of tying a chain to the male’s vehicle and trying to pull it away from the premises.

State of Kansas v. Kevin Deloria — Case No: 15 CR 271.

Date of birth: 1984. Address: Wellington.

Charges:

Count 1 — Battery, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Criminal deprivation of property, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: September 24, 2015

Case description:

Deloria is accused of grabbing a female’s arms while using profanity and taking away her cell phone. He also allegedly threw it onto the ground breaking the screen.

Date of birth: 1995. Address: Caldwell.

Charges:

Count 1 — Minor in possession by consumption, misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: September 27, 2015

Case description:

Deloria is accused of consumption of alcohol when he is not 21.

State of Kansas v. James McDonald — Case No: 15 CR 274.

Date of birth: 1976. Address: Wichita.

Charges:

Count 1 — Conspiracy to commit theft, Class C misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Driving while suspended, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Possession marijuana, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 4 — Possession drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 5 — Possession narcotic, level 5 drug felony.

Date of alleged crime: September 22, 2015

Case description:

McDonald is accused of unlawfully agreeing with another person, Tammy Trezvant of Wichita of committing the crime of theft. They allegedly drove to the Wellington Walmart together and Trezvant shoplifted $80 worth of merchandise into a shopping cart. But she left the store when she thought she was being watched and McDonald allegedly picked her up at the exit.

When stopped, McDonald allegedly had his driver’s license suspended, had marijuana cigarettes in the ash cup of the vehicle he was driving, rolling papers. and tweezers inside the vehicle. There was allegedly burnt residue inside his pocket.

McDonald also allegedly had Tylenol with codeine pills in the center console. According to the complaint he did not have a prescription for the drugs which he had obtained from a friend to treat some pain he was having.

State of Kansas v. Tammy Trezvant— Case No: 15 CR 275.

Date of birth: 1972. Address: Wichita.

Charges:

Count 1 — Attempted theft, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Possession marijuana, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Possession drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: September 22, 2015

Case description:

Trezvant is accused of entering the Wellington Wal-Mart with less than $2 and allegedly put in $80 worth of merchandise into a shopping cart without paying for them. But she left the store when she thought she was being watched.

She allegedly had marijuana cigarettes in the ash cup in the center console of the vehicle for which she was a passenger in when the vehicle was stopped on U.S. 160 near the turnpike. She also allegedly had rolling papers in the car, a metal spoon in her purse with powdery residue on the topside and burnt residue on the underside; a four-inch brass rod, two glass tubes with burnt residue indicating having been used to smoke either cocaine or methamphetamine.

State of Kansas v. Karen DeAnn Boardman — Case No: 15 CR 276.

Count 1 — Domestic Battery, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Disorderly conduct, Class C misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: September 10, 2015

Case description:

Boardman is accused of angrily grabbing her husband by the throat and slapping him. During the argument she allegedly threw down the cellphone and breaking the screen while angrily threatening him.

Case outcome: Boardman plead guilty to disorderly conduct on Oct. 1, 2015.

State of Kansas v. Steven Spence — Case No: 15 CR 277.

Date of birth: 1980. Address: Wichita.

Charges:

Count 1 — Forgery, level 8 felony.

Count 2 — Possession methamphetamine, level 5 drug felony.

Date of alleged crime: October 1, 2015

Case description:

Spence is accused of writing a 1099 Form given to the Kansas Star Casino to claim a $1,500 jackpot by using the name of another person without his authority. He then allegedly went to the Hampton Inn, adjacent to the casino, and possessed methamphetamine in an envelope which he dropped on the floor when he was arrested for forgery by the Racing and Gaming commission and another baggy of meth that was found in his motel room.

State of Kansas v. Jason Boyd — Case No: 15 CR 278.

Date of birth: 1983. Address: South Haven.

Charges:

Count 1 — Theft, level 9 felony.

Count 2 — Misuse of public funds, level 9 felony.

Count 3 — Interference with law enforcement.

Date of alleged crime: Dec. 30, 2013 to Jan. 9, 2014.

State of Kansas v. Felicia Leann Ferguson — Case No: 15 CR 280.

Date of birth: 1986. Address: Belle Plaine.

Charges:

Count 1 — Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Criminal damage to property, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Disorderly Conduct, Class C misdemeanor.

Count 4 — Escape from custody, Class A misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: October 3, 2015

Case description:

Ferguson is accused of throwing a TV remote at a TV and breaking the screen at 12:30 a.m. The person she was with did not want to originally press charges but then another argument ensued over a 30 pack of beer and allegedly, Ferguson picked up his Playstation 3 and smashed it to the ground.

After she was arrested for criminal damage and disorderly conduct while she was intoxicated, Ferguson allegedly claimed she was having medical difficulties even though nothing was wrong with her apart from her being intoxicated. She was transported to SRMC to obtain a medical clearance where she allegedly continued to be loud and profane, demanding to be released. Allegedly, the officer said he was going to take her to jail once she received medical clearance. While he was doing paperwork, she allegedly ran out the door and hid from him from 3:09 to 3:14 a.m. when he found her still in his handcuffs.

State of Kansas v. James Beltz — Case No: 15 CR 282.

Charges:

Count 1 — Violation of PFA, Class A misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: September 25, 2015

Case description:

Beltz is charged with violating a Final Protection from Abuse order issued on Aug. 12, 2015 which prohibited Beltz from being on or around the residence of a Belle Plaine woman.

State of Kansas v. Manford Baum — Case No: 15 CR 283.

Date of birth: 1993. Address: Wellington.

Charges:

Count 1 — Failure to dim lights, traffic infraction.

Count 2 — Failure to provide proof of insurance, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 3 — Possession drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 4 — Possession marijuana, Class A misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: October 3, 2015

Case description:

Baum is accused of driving a motor vehicle on a highway between sunset and sunrise with a high beam lights on while closer than 500 feet of an approaching vehicle.

When stopped Baum allegedly did not have proper insurance, and had marijuana in a marijuana pipe in his pocket and a baggy in the center console.

State of Kansas v. Steven Carroll — Case No: 15 CR 284.

Count 1 — Battery, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 2 — Disorderly conduct, Class C misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: September 26, 2015

Case description:

Carroll is accused of grabbing another person from behind and restraining him as he threatened to break the person’s arm while another person was in the vicinity.

State of Kansas v. Brent Ewertz — Case No: 15 CR 285.

Date of birth: 1961. Address: Conway Springs.

Charges:

Count 1 — Theft, level 9 felony. 

Count 2 — Eluding police, Class B misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: October 6, 2015

Case description:

Ewertz is accused of taking unauthorized control of a 2004 Chevy Silverado pickup having a value of at least $1,000 but less than $25,000. He also allegedly drove the pickup on Springdale Road to 110th Road refusing to stop for a pursuing police vehicle.

Count 3 — Disorderly conduct, Class C misdemeanor.

Date of alleged crime: Sept. 25, 2015

Case description:

Tomlin is accused of slamming a car door shut onto her boyfriend’s hand during an argument causing injury. She then allegedly punched him in the face. While allegedly yelling at him and physically attacking him, neighbors were alarmed and called the police to report the disturbance which Tomlin should have known such acts would alarm, anger or disturb others or breach the peace.
