These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury unless specified otherwise. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

State of Kansas v. David Cornell — Case No: 17 CR 276

Case description:
Cornell is accused of physically attacking a family member by punching him in the face and pushing him through a window.

Jacobs is accused of having a bag of marijuana in the center console of his vehicle, two marijuana pipes and a bag of methamphetamine on the floorboard near the passenger seat of the vehicle he was driving.

Banks is accused of driving a 1995 Cadillac Deville at milepost 3 without proper tag registered to a Chevrolet pickup. He also allegedly had no proof of insurance, a driver license suspended, and an open container of marijuana in his vehicle.

Rhonomus is accused of using profanity at a couple when she was told to move out. She then physically resisted her arrest to be handcuffed and transported to a patrol car to jail.

Case description:
Dixon is accused of threatening a Kansas State Trooper after stealing a sandwich and a burrito from the EZ Go Fuel Station in Belle Plaine. She also is accused of unnecessarily calling an emergency service when there was no reasonable ground for believing such assistance was needed.
She then allegedly attempted to drive a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more while having a suspended drivers license, no insurance and driving left of center.

Case description:
Maldonado is accused of possessing an open bottle of cognac that defendant threw out the window of a vehicle when police pulled him over while being over the age of 18 and under the age of 21.

Count 2: Possession of methamphetamine, level 5 drug felony.

Case description:
McCue is accused of carrying a shotgun with a barrel that was 10 inches in length described as an sawed off shotgun rapped in black tape and located on the left side of the driver’s seat. He allegedly had methamphetamine residue in a glass pipe found in the defendant’s pocket.
McCue also allegedly had marijuana in a clear sandwich plastic bag found in his left rear pocket. A multicolored glass-bowled pipe was also allegedly found in the glovebox of his vehicle.

Logan-Easter is accused of sending a threatening text message to someone else stating he was going to break the guy’s neck if he didn’t quit messing with him after having just phoned him twice to discuss a $5 debt.

Case description:
Macias is accused of making a life threat on family members. He also allegedly damaged a closet door inside the family home in Wellington.

State of Kansas v. Edward Swarthout — Case No: 17 CR 292.

Date of alleged crime: July 13-23, 2017.
Charges:
Count 1: Theft, level 9 felony.
Count 2: Theft, level 9 felony.
Case description:
Swarthout is accused of stealing a red 2008 Chevy Tahoe valued at least $1,500 but less than $25,000. He also allegedly stole a 2011 Chevy Silverado valued at $15,000, $80 in cash and a debit card belonging to someone else.
According to the complaint affidavit on July 13 at 3:07 a.m. Sheriff deputies were dispatched to report that the Tahoe was stolen at Fall Creek Road near Caldwell. According to surveillance cameras at the residence it appeared to be a white male wearing a ball cap, T-shirt and blue jeans who came onto the property to steal the pickup. There were also missing tools in the vehicle. On July 14 about 9:30 a.m., the Tahoe was parked in an alley at 1025 N. Jefferson in Wellington. The tools, keys and vehicle key fobs were not recovered. The Tahoe’s GPS system also had two new addresses.
Then on July 23 according to the affidavit, a Silverado pickup was stolen along with $80 cash and a debit card at 980 S. Oliver Road. The pickup had a pink “Case” vanity plate on the front. Then on July 27, officers discovered the vehicle while driving through Wedgewood Apartments. Swarthout was taken into custody for allegedly stealing a third car in Wichita and getting caught in the Wellington Wal-Mart on July 23, using the debit card he had stolen out of the Silverado pickup.

Case description:
Poston is accused of having defective brake lights, a suspended driver’s license, and a plastic bag of marijuana inside a cigarette package in his shirt pocket when stopped at 119th St. south at U.S. 81. He then allegedly had at least 6 grams of rock methamphetamine and prescription narcotic only Ibuprofen 800 pills prescribed to someone else in his pants pocket.

Case description:
Corter is accused of making a $35.46 check for Walmart merchandise with a check from another account without the owner’s authorization of her signature. He then allegedly tried to use a forged check after putting in $28 of gas in his vehicle, but it was declined, and he left without paying for it.
