Sumner Newscow Contest: Name that town!

by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow â€” Since it is Labor Day weekend, I thought we would have some fun.

I came up with this idea when I got a speeding ticket in this town the other day and was taking a jab at it, by naming it “Wannabe.” Can you guess what town it was? Derby. Derby is a Wichita Wannabe.

So I have put together 20 nicknames of towns in the south-central Kansas area. These towns are within a 100 mile radius of Wichita. Place your answers below in the comment section using your real name. I’ll give you the number of answers you have right until we have a winner. The first person who can link all 20 nicknames with the real towns, will get not one but two Sumner Newscow T-shirts! I’ll give the explanations once someone wins the contest. Kind of like the Medallion Hunt.
