Commentary by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow —Wellington, don’t overthink this. It’s maintenance.

Much like your house, the school district has some maintenance needs. The roofs need to be replaced. We need new windows and HVAC units.

The school needs some parking lot upkeep, and some theater seats replaced. We’ve needed that bathroom at the football field replaced since my wife and I moved here more than 30 years ago.

Our school district is asking for some help meeting those expenses. For 18 cents a day on a $100,000 house, we should listen. It’s our school.

On Nov. 4 (or before), join me and vote Yes on the school bond proposal.

And while you are at it, cast an affirmative vote for the Cowley College Sumner Campus. Like you notice that half-cent sales tax anyway.
