2026 Medallion hunt winners Ann Shinliver and Cassie Brungardt.

By Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The 2026 Kansas Wheat Festival Medallion has been found.

Wellington residents Cassidy Brungardt and Ann Shinliver found the Medallion around 10 a.m. this morning in what appears to be a brown guard shield surrounding a heating/air conditioning unit on the southeast corner of the Wellington Middle School auxiliary gymnasium, used for middle school basketball games and other sporting pursuits.

We will have more details on how they found the Medallion. Also, we have contacted the Medallion Committee, and they will be revealing the clue meanings shortly.
