Boys: Oxford 65 South Haven 59

The No. 8 Oxford Wildcats defeated South Haven to improve to 2-0 in the South Central Border League. South Haven led 12-10 at the end of the first and it was 25-22 at the half. The Wildcats then outscored the Cardinals 24-13 to secure the win. Oxford head boys coach Kyle Green states:

“This was a rock fight of a game. South Haven plays hard and competes, their kids did a nice job of matching runs and making runs in the first half. The difference in the game was the 3rd quarter when we came out after half and hit several big shots early. We took care of the game in that run. I’m proud of our kids. We dropped a heart breaker Saturday vs Burden, didn’t have school or practice yesterday due to weather, and found a way to get a W. It says alot about their grit and character tonight that they were able to fight through and get a W. We are now 10-2 on the year, 2-0 in the SCBL. We have a huge league game Friday at Oxford vs a very good CVD team. I know we beat them in the SCBL semi finals, but Coach Criss does a great job and his kids will be ready to play Friday.”
