Tyson Jones is named the Duke of Wellington for 2024

Sumner Newscow report — Tyson Jones has been named the 2024 Duke of Wellington. He was crowned at halftime of the Wellington-El Dorado boys game.
Jones, is the son of Kristina Brown and Jason Jones. He is the grandson of Debic Brown and Rick Brown and Debie and Stan Jones. He was escorted by Sheadyn Stewart.
The other Duke candidates were Kaeden Gill, Derrick Lowe, Danny Walker, and Gavin Witham. Their escorts were Olivia Smith, Blaire Vazquez, Kate Haines and Lyric Cornejo (Duchess of Wellington in 2023).
Jones has been a member of the FFA for four years, Scholars Bowl for three years, Crusaders of the Stage for two years and the Crusader Creators for three years.
He has received both the Greenhand and Chapter FFA Degrees. He has bee working at Big Cheese Pizza since 2021. Outside of school, Jones enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends and walking at Worden Park to enjoy the silence. After high school, he plans to go to Cowley County Community College and then transfer to Kansas State University where he will major in genetics.
