Vickie Ann Tyrrell

Vickie Ann Tyrrell of Wellington died on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the age of 79.

She was born the daughter of Vilas A. and Elva L. (Thorton) Young on April 2, 1943, in Manistique, Michigan.

On December 30, 1961, Vickie and Rodger Tyrrell were united in marriage in Manistique, Michigan. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Vickie was a life member and past guardian of Bethel #69. She was a member of the Grand Triangle of Honor Of Michigan and also served on the Grand Guardian Council of the State of Michigan. Lauerman’s Department Store of Manistique employed her.

Vickie and Rodger moved the family to Wellington in 1984, where they became members of the First Baptist Church. They both served on boards and committees of the church. She served as secretary for the church for 13 years, retiring in 2006.

Survivors include her husband, Rodger Tyrrell of Wellington; daughter, Marsha McRoberts (Eddy) of Osawatomie, Kansas; daughter, Judy Stringer (Tony) of Wellington, Kansas; grandchildren: Amy Colin (John) of Birmingham, Alabama; Vince McRoberts of Osawatomie, Kansas; Jacob McRoberts (Aslana) of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Amanda Abraham (Jeremy) of Wellington, Kansas; Josh Stringer (Michelle) of Wellington, Kansas; Rachel Stringer of Wellington and great-grandchildren, Alan Stringer, Saylor and Grace Conlin.

Visitation Will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2022, with the family being present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services for Vickie will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Wellington, Kansas.

A memorial has been established in her loving memory at the First Baptist Church in Wellington, Kansas.  Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
