We are back!

by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — It’s been one heck of a week at the Sumner Newscow headquarters.

On Friday, five loooooong days ago, the www.sumnernewscow.com website came in contact with a corrupted file which contaminated our website.

So for the past week, you have either not had the site come up on your computer or mobile device or you have seen the same stories posted as if yours truly decided to take a trip to Fiji, or got thrown in jail.

I wish.

After a week working with guru techies from both locally and California trying to pinpoint the problem, my partner and I decided to punt — and start a new site and link the domain here. So you are looking at a new site identical to the old site, except currently we have no archival data – i.e. old stories on the site.

The stories you see here are stories I wrote throughout the week and placed on my personal blog while using my Sumner Newscow Facebook Business Page as my digital headquarters.

We will try over the next coming weeks to get as much of the old information moved over so you the readers will have access to the stories that have been written over the past year. The old data is in a backup site, i.e. digital storage bin. But it needs to be manually transferred, and that will take awhile.

Being a farmer’s child, I compare this past week like the time the prized combine went down during the pinnacle of wheat harvest and there is a dark cloud forming in the horizon.

I want to thank you for your patience, and hopefully cure you of any confusion. This new site has a few glitches. It kind of feels like a new born and we are taking tender loving care with it, wrapping it in a blanket, holding it, bouncing it around and all. I’ve even resorted to baby talk. After this week, we are taking nothing for granted.

As I have promised you from the start, I was going to do two things: provide you with honest trustworthy news in a timely fashion and transparency.

What I didn’t promise you, was everything was going to work perfectly. Sumner Newscow is up and running at the moment. But with technology, you never can tell.

In the meantime, please log onto our Facebook business page at Sumner Newscow at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sumner-Newscow/269583703053013 and click “like.” That way if you see something strange on the site, or have not seen new content for a few days, we will have an explanation and direct you to a place for which you can view the latest happenings of the day. News never stops at Sumner Newscow regardless of the technological gremlins.

Once again, thanks. And God bless those who love computers. Because nothing tests a person’s soul quite like modern technology.
