“Corky” Long

by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its weekly coffee at the Donut Shop even though the funeral of civic leader William Cockins “Corky” Long Jr., who died at 84, is set for 10:30 a.m. at the St. Anthony/St. Rose Catholic Church.

Long’s obituary can be found here.

Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Shelley Hansel-Williams stated:

“As some of you may be aware, we lost a tremendous community leader and dear friend of the Chamber this past week.

Corky Long with the Bank of Commerce passed away and his funeral is Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Catholic Church.

We will still have Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m. but will end a little early for those of us that would like to attend the funeral.

Please keep the Long Family and the Bank of Commerce family in your prayers during this difficult time.”
