The Wellington Lady Tigers Basketball Team won the YMCA 6th Grade Division B Post Season Tournament tonight in a very hard fought 16 -10 game at the Farha Sports Center in Wichita.  Team members are: Brooke McCorkle, McKenna Jones, Lindsey Scheufler, Isabella Metzen, Lexi Clift, Kennedee Lara, Adrienne Norris and Ellie Buresch.

The team is coached by Mike and Amber McCorkle

“It was a fun group of girls to coach,” said Amber McCorkle. “They worked very hard and worked well together.  Credit needs to also be given to Eric Adams for helping the girls with their offense in the preseason.

“We couldn’t of done it without him.  I can’t wait to see the girls keep learning and growing as players.  The best part of the victory was that the team consisted of four – 6th Graders, three – 5th Graders and one – 4th Grader.  They held their own and won the 6th Grade Tournament.”
