Submitted to Sumner Newscow — The 8th annual Wellington Battle of the Badges Blood Drive will be on Friday, September 13 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall on 201 East Harvey.

The law enforcement officers and firefighters of Wellington will compete to see which department can obtain the most donors.  There is an urgent need, as every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.  One day it could be you, a family member or friend.

The American Red Cross wants to invite everyone to come out to donate and vote for your favorite – law officers or fire fighters.  Please call 1-800-Red Cross to schedule an appointment for September 13th.  Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred.
