by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The Wellington boys basketball team season ended quickly. The Crusaders lost to host Wichita Trinity 62-31 in the first round of the Mulvane Sub-state tournament Tuesday night.

The Crusaders end the season at 5-15.

Wichita Trinity, the top seed in the sub-state, would take a 16-7 first quarter lead and held a 39-16 advantage at the half. Trinity would add to the lead with a 21-8 output in the third quarter en route to an easy win.

It’s been a tough season for the Crusaders, losing their last eight games.

This game was delayed a night because of the weather.
