Wellington City Council meeting tonight at council chambers, expects to approve 2017 budget
Sumner Newscow report — The Wellington City Council will be meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers.
There will be plenty on the agenda. Those who wish to talk about utility rates may want to call the city office at 620-326-2811 to get themselves on the agenda.
The main order of business will be a public hearing for the 2017 City of Wellington budget. The budget will then be placed for public vote.
In other business, the council is expected to:Â
•address the raw water issue;
•discuss the certification for the 2017 Kansas Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Program;
•study the approval of the Memorial Auditorium Rental application.
An executive session has also been schedule to discuss confidential data related to non-elected personnel. The council voted at the last regular session meeting to offer a full-time contract to Interim City Manager Shane Shields pending contract approval.
