Wellington City Council to hold 2014 budget hearing Tuesday night

by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow â€” The Wellington City Council will be holding a budget hearing Tuesday night at the Wellington City Council Chambers at 6:30 p.m. The council then is expected to either approve or reject the 2014 budget which will guide the finances of the city government for the 12 months starting in January.

The proposed budget, submitted by Wellington City Manager Gus Collins, must get approval by the city council majority. The mill levy calls for a 2.045 mill levy increase. The public hearing is available for any taxpayer or concerned citizen to express their view. The proposed budget totals are as follows:
