By Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The Big Cheese Athlete of the Week is back. The first 2024-25 winner is Couper Buchanan, a 6-2, 235, senior, who plays defensive tackle for the Wellington Crusaders.
Buchanan had quite the game in a 22-19 loss to Collegiate. He had nine total tackles, earning him 12 stickers for his helmet. He had two tackles for a loss, a sack, and four assisted tackles for nine plays, helping the ferocious Crusader defensive line accumulate 30 tackles.
For his effort, Buchanan is the recipient of the large, delicious Big Cheese Pizza at 234 N. Washington.
