Wellington Fire Department stays busy with Barber County fire; Mayfield shed fire
Sumner Newscow report — The Wellington Fire Department sent two firefighters and a brush truck to assist with the grass fire in Barber County. According to a news reporter, he crews left at noon on Wednesday and arrived back home Thursday morning at 5 a.m.
Wellington also assisted the Mayfield Fire Department Wednesday afternoon on a fire that destroyed two sheds, a small trailer and numerous other items. Staff also responded to five medical calls and two smoke investigations Wednesday.
Sumner County does not have a burn ban unless there is a high wind advisory. Nevertheless people are urged to use caution.
