Wellington freshman Britt Zeka is named Big Cheese Athlete of the Week

by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Brittan Zeka, a Wellington High School freshman, has been named Big Cheese Athlete of the Week.
We know Zeka will have plenty of other opportunities to get this award but as a freshman, it is hard to understate her impact this week. Starting Tuesday of last week she had 5 point in Wellington’s upset win over Cheney. She then had 18 points in the Cheney tournament championship game against Pratt and 16 points in last night’s win at Andale. She was named to the all-tournament team. And accounted for several rebounds and steals during the three-game stretch.
For her effort, B. Zeka is the recipient of a large delicious Big Cheese Pizza at 324 N. Washington.
