Wellington Homecoming and Fall Festival is set for Oct. 3-6

by Shelley Hansel-Williams, Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce — Mark your calendars now for October 3 to Oct. 6 for Homecoming and Fall Festival activities.

On Thursday, Oct. 3, the WHS Student Council will host the annual Homecoming Parade through downtown Wellington followed by a Pep Rally in Heritage Park with Coach Tyler Ryan. If you want to be in the parade, contact Wellington High School at 620-326-4310.

On Friday, Oct. 4, the First Friday Art Walk will be held in downtown Wellington from 5 – 7 p.m.

The WHS Crusader Homecoming Football game vs. Circle kicks off at 7 p.m. at Sellers Park.

On Saturday, October 5, the Fall Festival in downtown Wellington featuring the 24th Annual Chili and Salsa Cook-off will take place and we need teams and sponsors!! (See attached flyers for entry and rules).

We also are looking for groups who want to make dollars!  We invite any non-profit group to have a food booth in our Fall Festival Fundraiser food court.

Along with the cook-off there will be other activities going on including: the SRMC Health Fair, SCYP Dodgeball Tournament, Alzheimer’s Association Walk, The Fall Festival 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run, Kids games and bouncies and great shopping in our great Wellington stores.

There are several class reunions planned for that weekend including the Classes of 1968, 1973, 1978 and 1983!!

On Sunday, October 6 there will be an Arts and Crafts Fair along with a Gospel Concert featuring Jason Crabb at the Wellington High School.  Doors open at 6 p.m.
