Sumner Newscow report — The Wellington Humane Society Shelter Pet of the Week is Melody!

Meet Melody, a 55-pound bundle of adorableness, sass, and sweetness! This Saturday is an extra special day—it’s her second birthday! The WHS staff can’t think of a better birthday gift than a loving family to call her own. If you’ve been thinking about adopting, maybe Melody is the one you’ve been waiting for!

Even if adoption isn’t possible right now, you can still help make Melody’s birthday extra special. She would LOVE a Doggie Day Out, a visit from new friends, or plenty of belly rubs and attention. People are her favorite, and she never says no to making new human friends!

July is our Dog Days of Summer celebration, which means all dog adoption fees are HALF OFF all month long! There has never been a better time to stop by, meet Melody, and get to know all of the wonderful dogs waiting for their forever homes. Let’s give Melody the birthday she deserves by sharing her story far and wide. Your share could be the one that helps her find the family she’s been dreaming of.

Stop in this week to meet this special pet. The shelter is open on Wednesday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you are interested in adoption, please complete the online application before entering to speed up the adoption process. WHS officials process applications in the order they are received, so the sooner you submit your application, the better. And don’t forget, the Pet of the Week has a discounted adoption fee of $10 off pets during their week!
