Wellington Humane Society Pet of the Week: Sushi, the cat
Meet Sushi, a stunning 1½-year-old tortoiseshell with a heart as beautiful as her coat. Sushi came to us after a kind person rescued her and her five newborn kittens from life on the streets, caring for them until the shelter had room at the shelter.
Once she arrived, Sushi proved she wasn’t just a wonderful mom to her own babies—she became a hero to others, too. When three orphaned kittens from two different situations needed a mother, Sushi welcomed them without hesitation, nursing and caring for them as if they had always been hers.
After raising eight kittens and giving them the love and care they needed to thrive, it’s finally Sushi’s turn to be spoiled. Sushi is more of a “Netflix and chill” kind of girl. She’s happiest lounging in a cozy spot, curling up in a quiet lap, and soaking up plenty of gentle pets. She gets along well with other cats and would love a peaceful home where she can relax and enjoy the life she’s worked so hard to earn.
This amazing mama has spent so much of her young life taking care of everyone else. Now she’s looking for someone to take care of her. If you’re searching for a sweet, gentle companion with an incredible story and so much love to give, come meet Sushi. We think you’ll fall in love just like we have.
Please help us share Sushi’s story so she can finally find the forever home she deserves.
