By Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The Big Cheese Athlete of the Week is Dusty Bannister, a Wellington High School junior.
Bannister has been on a tear both at the plate, on the mound, and at third base, helping the Crusaders to a 3-1 record against Andale-Garden Plain and Augusta.
Bannister has batted .467 in the four games with one double, two triples, and seven RBIs. As a pitcher, he has thrown five innings with zero earned runs.
For his effort, Bannister is the recipient of a large, delicious Big Cheese Pizza at 324 N. Washington.
