by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — It will be a “twofer” for the Wellington Middle School girls basketball teams in the Patriot League Tournament Championship. Both the seventh and eighth-grade teams won easily today in semi-final games and will advance to Monday night championships in Wellington.

The seventh grade dominated Rose Hill 44-6 in the auxiliary gym. Just an hour later, the eighth graders annihilated Mulvane 40-5 in the main gym. Wellington 7th will battle Prairie Hills at 5 p.m. followed by the Wellington 8th playing Prairie Hills thereafter in the main gymnasium. There will be two parent/guardian per participant allowed for Monday’s game.
