Updated: July 30 – The Wellington Post 90 American Legion team was eliminated from the Kansas State AA Tournament today in Colby losing to Iola 11-5 in 6.5 innings in the losers bracket game. Iola scored eight runs in the sixth which was too much to overcome.

Sumner Newscow report- July 29  — The Wellington Post 90 American Legion team lost in the first round of the Kansas State AA Tournament today in Colby.

Wellington lost to Beloit 12-1 in four innings. Post 90 will battle the loser of Colby and Iola tomorrow. Beloit, which came in on a 11-game winning streak, would score two runs in the first, one run in the second, six runs in the third and three runs in the fourth to stop the locals.

The locals could muster just one hit and committed two errors. Beloit had 11 hits and two errors. The AA tournament is an eight-team double elimination tournament. Post 90 qualified after winning the zone tournament in Pratt last weekend.
