Book Buddies is the early literacy story time for infant through 5 year olds. It focuses on stories, instruments, and hand plays that appeal to all pre kindergarten aged children. Book Buddies is designed to lay the foundation for a lifelong love of reading, while following the Kansas State Library’s 6×6 Ready to Read program, which seeks to ensure all children have the six pre-reading skills necessary to become a successful reader by age 6. Book Buddies programs are designed to last approximately 30 minutes, though special craft times may extend beyond that.
