Wellington receives 5.5 inches of snow Saturday
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — According to weather reports, Wellington received 5.5 inches of snow. This picture taken this morning confirms it.
Those who took the trip to the Kansas State Wrestling Tournament in Salina, noticed on the way home, the farther south you drove the more snow you saw. And Wellington most certainly had the most.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a slight chance of snow and sleet before noon but not likely. There may be some fog this morning as well, otherwise cloudy with a high near 31. The chance of precipitation throughout the day is 20 percent.
The big question today will be whether Sumner County schools will call off school for Monday. We’ll keep you informed.
