Wellington receives .68 inches of rain since Thursday

Sumner Newscow report — The Sumner County rain gauges — as reported through the Collaborative Community Rain, Hail and Snow Network — received anywhere from .28 to .68 inches of precipitation. Wellington’s amount was .68.

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, Sumner County has returned to normal precipitation throughout the western half, with the eastern half still considered abnormally dry and moderate drought conditions. That’s a far cry from when the county was in a deep brown exceptional drought stage, which was the case early last summer.
