Andale girls 55 Wellington 42
Throughout the years, the Wellington girls have found that getting to the state tournament was easier than winning the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Div. IV.
The Crusaders are officially out of the race after losing to Andale on the road. Wellington, which lost to Andale and Rose Hill on the first rotation of the AV-CTL DIV schedule, was hoping a plethora of things would happen the second time around so they could at least share the title. But in order to do so they needed to sweep the second round of the AV-CTL DIV. But that is over now.
On Friday, Andale built a 13-4 first-quarter lead, and held a 25-21 advantage at the half. Andale would outscore Wellington 11-9 and 19-12 in the second half to win by 13.
Avery Rusk led the Crusaders with 19 points. Shayland French had 12, Rylee Rusk 5, Lexi Clift 4, and Dru Warnock 2. Andale was led by three players. Tyler Winter had 12, Morgan Geist 11 and Sophie Easter had 10.
Wellington, now 7-6, hosts Rose Hill Tuesday.

Make no mistake. Wellington is missing A.J. Snipes. For the third consecutive game, Snipes was out of the lineup due to a concussion, and the Crusaders could not get to 40.
Andale made quick work of the Crusaders Friday. The Indians opened with a 21-9 first-quarter lead and held a 38-17 advantage at the half. Interesting anomaly if you are a box score watcher: Wellington scored 9 points in the first and 8 points in every quarter thereafter.
Ian King led Wellington with 14 points. Silas Popplewell had 7, Austin Soles 4, Jihad Mutazammil 3, Grey Hatfield 2, Jack Walton 2, De’Andre Washington 1.
Andale was led by Easton Hunter with 15 points and Parker Bruce had 11. Wellington is now 4-12 and will host Rose Hill Tuesday. Andale improves to 14-2.
