by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The Wellington 2014 and 2015 Crusader football teams may be improved in the coming years, but their district schedule looks daunting enough that a return to the playoffs will be a very tough proposition.

Since Class 4A was divided up into two divisions – with Wellington in Division 1 — it also got a new district. Next year, Wellington will have Mulvane, Rose Hill and Ulysses on their district schedule released today by the Kansas State High School Activities Association (see full list here)FBAssignments14-15

The full 2014-15 WHS football schedule has not been publicly released yet.

In other football district news involving Sumner County teams:

Conway Springs and Belle Plaine will be in Class 3A District 9 with Cheney and Chaparral.

Oxford will be in Eight-man Div. 1 District 2 with Central-Burden, Cedar Vale-Dexter, West Elk, Sedan and Udall.

South Haven, Argonia-Attica, and Caldwell will be in District 4 eight-man Div. 2 with South Barber, Norwich and Pretty Prairie.
