Rylan Biles vs. Buhler
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Some weeks are better than others. This week we have to go with two co-Big Cheese Athletes of the Week.
Kyndal Rusk, a freshman, had an incredible afternoon in Wellington’s doubleheader sweep over Buhler. She was 9-for-9 at the plate and had a home run in both games. She had combined: 11 RBIs, three triples and two doubles.
Rylan Biles, a senior, did his damage on the mound. In seven innings pitched, Biles allowed just four hits, two walks, while striking out eight leading Wellington to its first win of the season, a 4-1 victory in game one of a doubleheader Monday night.
For their efforts, Rusk and Biles each receive a large delicious Big Cheese Pizza at 324 N. Washington.
