Where is Penelope? She could be at your house soon to help raise funds for Project Prom
by Pam Strader, Sumner Newscow — You may have recently spotted Project Prom’s Penelope adorning porches around Wellington. Penelope really gets around.
Penelope is one of the 2023 Wellington High School Project Prom fundraisers. Project Prom is a drug/alcohol-free event that provides a safe After Prom Party for Wellington High School juniors and seniors. Just like the postal service, Penelope has withstood the rain, wind, sleet, and snow to maintain her scheduled appearances! (The Kansas winds have affected her hairstyle on more than one occasion.) With spring weather coming soon, Penelope is anxious to continue her journey throughout Wellington.
Penolope will travel from house to house. Those who will see her at their house, can then designate her next location.
However, you can schedule a visit with Penelope, and she will make it to your home when there is an opening. Donate to: Project Prom ($20) via Venmo@WellingtonProject-Prom or mail your check to Project Prom, P.O. Box 844, Wellington, KS 67152.
For additional information and to follow Penelope’s travels, follow her on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/wellingtonprojectprom
You can also e-mail wellingtonprojectprom@gmail.com for more information/requests, etc.
All proceeds from Penelope’s travels will go towards a safe After Prom Party in April. Watch for other opportunities to support Project Prom in the future. Thanks for supporting Project Prom.
