Friday

•Homecoming basketball at Wellington vs. El Dorado. Girls: 6 p.m. Homecoming coronation between basketball games. Boys game follow.

•Wrestling at Rose Hill, 11 a.m.

Saturday

•JV Wrestling at Wichita South, 9 a.m.

Monday menu:

Breakfast: Pancakes.

Lunch: Chicken and Waffles, Turkey and Cheddar Melt.

Today’s News:

*Crusader Creators will not meet on February 6th. The next meeting will be February 13th @ 5:30.

*Any student who will be participating in a spring sport and have not turned in a physical and concussion form will need  to do so before the first day of practice which is February 27th. You may pick up the forms in the counselors office from Mrs. Yates.

*Valengrams will be sold at lunch today. Songs include: Build me up Buttercup, Stand by me, Hooked on a feeling and more!

*Don’t forget to buy a soda valentine for $1 at lunch. Last day to purchase one is Wednesday, February 8th. They will be delivered during 3rd hour on Valentine’s Day. Let someone know you “soda” like them this Valentine’s Day.

*Circle of Friends Members who are wanting to attend the Soc Walk- Please remember that the registration and money need to be turned in to Ms. Gray TODAY!

* A Josten’s Representative will be here for a meeting with the Sophomore class regarding class rings on Thursday, February 9th. The meeting is at 9:40 in the Auditorium.

*Are you running late and missed breakfast in the cafeteria? You can now stop by the cafeteria between 1st and 2nd hour for a breakfast boat!

Seniors:

*Any Senior who has not placed an order for a Cap, Gown, Stole and Tassel- Please see Mrs. Yates ASAP. If a Senior has a cap and gown from a previous WHS Student they plan on wearing, remember they will need to order a stole and tassel. Students can place their orders on the Jostens website. www.jostens.com or call 1-620-232-7464 ext 2.

*There is a sign-up sheet for seniors outside the counselors office to visit with a rep from Lincoln College of Technology in Denver Colorado on February 8th during Cru Con. Lincoln College offers career training in Automotive, Health Sciences, Business and Information Technology, Skilled Trades, Spa and Cosmetology and Culinary.

*Seniors: The Sibyl K. Wells Scholarship was established by Sibyl Wells. It was Mrs. Wells wish to provide scholarships which would benefit students from Wellington High School who will attend a Christian College or University. The applications are in the counseling office and the deadline to turn in this application is March 1. Any senior who is planning on attending a Christian college or university, please come to the counseling office to get an application form.

*Seniors: The Shelter Insurance Company is offering a $2000 scholarship. You may pick up an application form in the counselor’s office or go the counseling page on the USD 353 website to download an application.  The completed application is due by March 31 to the counselor’s office.

* Seniors: The Sumner County Farm Bureau Association if offering a $500  scholarship. This scholarship is open to seniors whose parents are members in good standing of the association. You can find this scholarship on the counselor’s page on the USD 353 website or there are applications in the counselor’s office.
