Woodlawn Ave. is open north to south; Lincoln Street Project should be finished by May
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Travelers in east Wellington have noticed this week that Woodlawn Ave. going north to south is now open as road construction workers move closer to the completion of the Lincoln Street Reconstruction project.
Wellington City Manager Gus Collins said the project which encompasses Lincoln Avenue from Woodlawn to the Wellington Compost Site is expected to be completed by the end of May.
The detour signs have been moved one block east. Road construction started in mid-November. People were detoured down Fair, west of Woodlawn, to 4th Avenue and then east. See map here: http://www.sumnernewscow.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Lincoln-Detour-11-18-13.pdf
Pavers Inc., the project construction company, also issued a notice to residents in the east Hamel Addition area that it will be closing the south half of the intersection at Arthur and Lincoln Ave. All of Arthur will be closed from 4th except for property owners between 4th and Lincoln.
For people to get to Arthur, north of Lincoln, people are asked to use Bright to Lincoln to Arthur. Pavers will have access provided to you on the northwest corner of Lincoln and Arthur.
