More charges against Curtis Everhart of Wellington — this time for distribution of meth

by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Curtis Everhart, 31, of Wellington continues to rack up charges against himself.

Everhart was arrested on two counts of distribution of methamphetamine, and one count of communication device to facilitate a drug sale by the Wellington Police Department.

The arrest was made on Wednesday, June 19. Bond has been set at $50,000. The charges were stemmed from cases investigated by the Wellington Police Department and the Sumner County Drug Task Force. The case has now been sent to the Sumner County Attorney’s office for possible formal charges. 

Everhart was charged with three felony counts, one misdemeanor and a traffic infraction on Friday, May 24 for possession of stolen property, failing to stop vehicle emerging from a private driveway, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was accused of obtaining a 22-inch Vizio television from a Winfield Wal-Mart originally said to be stolen by Gail Leighty. Everhart was also involved with a high-speed chase on Wednesday, Feb. 6 of this year that involved four Latino men over a dispute which started in Sedgwick County and ended peacefully in the Orsheln’s Store parking lot in west Wellington.
