Cheryll Ely

Cheryll Ann Ely, 71, of Wellington, died on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Botkin Care and Rehab in Wellington.

Graveside services will be held at the Blackwell Cemetery at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Cheryll was born on December 20, 1954, in Arkansas City, to parents Frank Graves Kennedy and Jessie Illean Freeze. She graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1972. On July 26, 1974, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Elton Burns Ely Sr., in Arkansas City. Cheryll was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo and card and board games.

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Vogelsang, granddaughters Shayla, Britnee, Keylee, and Gabby, 13 great-grandchildren, and her sister Frances Maytubby.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Elton Ely Jr., great-grandson Dayson River Hughes and siblings Sue Sigler, Mickey Landers, Debbie Kent, and Rusty Kennedy.
