Sumner Newscow report — The K & O Railroad will close its crossing on U.S. 77 between 5th and 6th streets in Winfield for repair work.

This work was scheduled to start on June 20, conditions permitting, but the weather has delayed it for at least another week.

During the closure, motorists can follow the official state route detour on U.S. 77, K-55 and K-15, U.S. 81 and U.S. 160, or use alternate routes that are not marked.
