Graysen DeJarnett qualifies for second consecutive Class 4A state tournament
Sumner Newscow report — Graysen DeJarnett, a Wellington High School senior, qualified for the 2016 Class 4A State Championships at Bentwood Golf Course in Ulysses, Monday. DeJarnett shot an 85, tying him for 11th place.
The team placed sixth overall with a score of 368.
“I am very proud of this team as well as a number of individuals who continued to improve throughout the season,” said James Ginter, Wellington High School golf coach. “Congratulations to Graysen for qualifying for a second straight year to the state tournament. We had a lot of young players who worked very hard and improve throughout the year. That will continue to be a key to our success in the future.”Â
Rose Hill and Collegiate qualified their entire teams. The individuals who qualified from the Winfield Regional were: Pete Carney, Andale; Martin Nuessen, Augusta; Aaron Meyer Andale; Jake Becker, Augusta; Graysen DeJarnett, Wellington, and Andy Burger, Winfield. The results are as follows:Â
