Haxton, a 2021 Argonia High School graduate, is currently a member of the Seward County Saints in Liberal.  She was one of four KJCCC student-athletes recognized at Seward. She is a right-side left-handed hitter with 191 kills, 53 blocks, and 29 digs this season. She has competed in 35 of 36 matches this season. Her best match occurred on Sept. 14, when she had 20 kills and a .405 hitting percentage.

Haxton is the daughter of Monte and Robyn Haxton of Argonia. She graduated as an all-league SCBL volleyball and basketball player during high school. She also was a second-team Class 1A all-state member in both sports.

She is currently starting for one of the top NJCAA Division 1 volleyball programs in the nation. Seward is currently ranked No. 14.

Seward claimed the Region VI and Plains District championship with a 3-1 victory over Butler Community College on Saturday, November 5. The Lady Saints advance to the NJCAA National Tournament in West Plains, Missouri, with the first round on November 17, and their opponent will be announced later.

For Haxton, it has been a momentous year. The 6-2 right side hitter played for Hutchinson her freshman year but left and transferred to Seward, a much more successful program. She has turned into a key starter and was named on Sept. 20 as KJCCC volleyball athlete of the week when she had her big day against Otero.

She has been averaging 4.3 kills per set.

Haxton plays with a team that includes 11 international players and two from Kansas.

Haxton’s dad Monte said she is looking at other options at four-year schools but has yet to decide on a future destination. She is currently just enjoying the season.

She is a physical therapy major.
