Bogguss, Earl, and Horinek sign athletic scholarships during WHS spring signing day
Sumner Newscow report — It was spring signing day at the Wellington gymnasium Wednesday afternoon. There were three signings: Cabel Bogguss, Taylor Earl and Kaylee Horinek.
Cabel Bogguss
Bogguss has signed an academic and wrestling scholarship to wrestle at Bethany College in Lindsborg. Bogguss, a 132-pound WHS varsity wrestler, has signed on to the Swedes, where he hopes to start at 133 pounds. He signed with his parents Curtis and Julia Thornton. Mitch Houghton represented Bethany College.
Bogguss is expected to major in business.
Taylor Earl
Earl has signed an academic and cheerleading scholarship with Cowley County Community College. Earl was a leading cheerleader for the Wellington High School Cheer Squad. She is pictured with her parents Valerie and Brandon Earl.
Earl is expected to major in Exercise Science and eventually become a Physical Therapist.
Kaylee Horinek
Horinek has signed an academic and athletic scholarship to wrestle at Colby Community College. She hopes to wrestle as a 180-pounder for the Trojans. She signed a letter of intent with her parents Tony and Brandy Horinek.
While there, Horinek will be majoring in criminal justice and psychology.
