Conway Springs Izic Billups named Big Cheese Athlete of the Week
Izic Billups
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Izic Billups, a 6-2 senior for the Conway Springs basketball team, has been named Big Cheese Athlete of the Week.
The Conway Springs team is on a roll having won three straight games and is 6-3 for the season. Part of the reason is Billups, who has had a phenomenal week.
In a 45-41 victory over Chaparral a week ago Billups had 27 points going 8-of-13 from the field with seven (!) three-pointers. Then on Friday’s 44-36 victory over Medicine Lodge, Billups was a more quiet four points but accounted for six steals. On Tuesday, Billups scored 18 point as Conway Springs dominated Belle Plaine 65-29.
For his efforts, Billups is a recipient of a large delicious pizza at Big Cheese Pizza at 324 N. Washington.
