Dr. Cooper Stewart, M.D. joins Sumner County Family Care Center

Dr. Cooper Stewart, M.D.

Dr. Cooper Stewart, M.D. has joined Sumner County Family Care Center, as part of the continue growth of the facility. He will be practicing at both the Wellington and Mulvane locations starting August 7. He will see patients at the Mulvane clinic on Monday and at the Wellington clinic Wednesday through Friday.

Dr. Stewart received his undergraduate degree from Newman University and his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. During his time in medical school, he worked in the Rural Primary Care Practice and Research Program and the KU Scholars in Rural Health Program. 

Stewart completed his residence with Via Christi Family Medicine residency in Wichita. While in his residency, Stewart served on a number of committees and in the supervising roles. He is a current member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.

Stewart was born and raised in the Belle Plaine community and graduated from high school there. He now resides in Wellington with his wife, Leah, and their two daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys being with his family and friends, and his hobbies include spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and going to the lake. He is an avid sports fan and closely follows and supports many local teams.
