Dr. Faustino Naldoza appointed to SRMC board; 1 vacancy still needs to be filled
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Dr. Faustino Naldoza was officially appointed as the newest member of the Sumner Regional Medical Center board.
By a 6-0 vote, the old city council of Mayor Roger Stallbaumer and members Vince Wetta, Kelly Green, Jan Korte, B.J. Tracy, Jim Valentine and John Brand unanimously voted to appoint Naldoza, a retired Wellington physician, to fill one of two vacancies.
Steve Shelley and Kelli McComb recently resigned from the five-member SRMC board. The council will still need to fill one vacancy. Wellington City Clerk Shane Shields said applicants will need to be accepted through May 7 for the other board vacancy. The appointment will be for the remainder of the term expiring April 20, 2017.
In a press release sent out today by Shields, the position stipulates:Â
“The Health Care Authority directs the hospital and other health care services by operating the city hospital or any other such care service, as the authority deems proper. Meetings of the HCA are on the third Tuesday of each month. One member may reside outside the corporate city limits.
Anyone interested in being considered for appointment to the position should submit an application to the City Clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on May 7. Applications submitted will be considered by the governing body.
