Fatality accident west of Ark City, involved a Wellington passenger
by Shane Farley, Newscow.net — The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified two people who died this weekend in a single-vehicle crash west of Ark City. The accident involved a passenger from Wellington.Â
42-year-old Isaac Horn, Wichita, and 47-year-old Yolanda Narvaez, San Antonio, Texas, were named as the people killed in the crash, which happened just before midnight Saturday. Both were wearing seat belts, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Horn was driving a 2001 Lincoln Town Car south on 31st Road when that vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason, entered the west ditch and a struck a tree. The accident occurred in the 25000 block of 31st Rd.
Both were dead at the scene.
25-year-old Erin Cooper, Wichita, was a passenger in the vehicle. She was transported to Wesley Medical Center for treatment. She was also wearing her seat belt.
26-year-old Loren Mendia, Wellington, was another passenger in the Town Car. He was taken to South Central Kansas Medical Center in Ark City for treatment.
KHP reports Mendia was not wearing a seat belt.
