Larry Dean Ferguson, 58, Wellington: April 18, 1963 – Jan. 22, 2022

Larry Ferguson

Larry Dean Ferguson, of Wellington, died unexpectedly while on a weekend trip in Okmulgee, Okla. at the age of 58. He was born the son of Wendell and Mickey (Rose) Ferguson on April 18, 1963, in Wellington. As a child, Larry and his family lived in a few towns but eventually settled in Wellington where he has lived nearly all his life.

Larry met the love of his life, Jackie (Barnhouse) Ferguson, in the early 1980s and they have been together for nearly 40 years. He has been employed with McAlister Oil Company since 1983 where he served as their lead mechanic by servicing their fleet of trucks. Outside of work, Larry still enjoyed being in the garage where he tinkered on all kinds of vehicles over the years. He loved going hunting and fishing which is what he was doing when he passed away. More than anything, Larry simply enjoyed being home with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a hardworking man that took care of his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Ferguson; son, Ira Ferguson and wife Amy; son, Christopher Ferguson and Amy Byers, grandchildren: Andreanna Ferguson, Jadyn Ferguson, Laila Lott, Addison Byers, Larry Dean Ferguson and LeAnn Ferguson all of Wellington; mother, Mickey Ferguson of South Haven; brother, David Wayne Ferguson and wife Terri of Caldwell; sister, Debbie Gossman and husband Kevin of Caldwell; sister, Joyce Clark and husband Mark of South Haven; adoptive brother, Alan “Wayne” Cox of Wichita; nephew, Michael David Ferguson (who he cared for as his own) of Perry, Oklahoma along with a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Ferguson and daughter, Felicia Ferguson.
